Joshua Resource Center
In 2003, a grant allowed Joshua Group to purchase and rehab one of the many blighted properties on Market Street. On the first floor of our property, we opened the Joshua Resource Center, which provides a much needed site for neighborhood youth to take part in our GED and SAT testing prep classes, tutoring, and job search and placement programs.
Currently the Joshua Resource Center has over 150 contacts a month with street kids looking to take advantage of services. There is also a highly used walk-in counseling service that specifically targets the immediate needs of street kids.
Many of these kids are showing up at the resource center just looking for a way to put some sanity back in their lives. Many also end up participating in our on-going, intensive independent living skills educational program to find that sanity.
