For Business
The Joshua Group EITC Scholarship Organization
A contribution to The Joshua Group Scholarship Foundation is a tremendous investment in our community that will enable more disadvantaged students to obtain a quality private school education. Businesses that pay Pennsylvania State taxes may apply for tax credits through the EITC program which allows for a tax credit of 75% of their Pennsylvania State Taxes for a one year commitment and a 90% tax credit for a two year commitment. The maximum contribution is $300,000 per year per corporation. Businesses interested in contributing to the Joshua Group EITC scholarship program should download Appendix I of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program Guidelines from the DCED website and submit it to the Department of Community and Economic Development for approval. Deserving students from low-income families appreciate and depend on your support through your corporate contributions to The Joshua Group EITC Scholarship program to allow them to choose a quality private school education and a chance for a more hopeful future.
The Joshua Group seeks to provide hope and support for at-risk youth primarily through educational and vocational opportunities. Joshua Group provides, mentoring, academic and logistical support, and financial assistance using the EITC scholarship program to enable disadvantaged and underserved youth from the cities of Harrisburg and Steelton to attend either Holy Family School, Cathedral School, St. Stephens Episcopal School, Prince of Peace School, or Bishop McDevitt High School. Deserving students from low- income families that desire a private school education and are willing to participate in Joshua Group tutoring and mentoring sessions are invited to apply through the Joshua Group for an EITC Scholarship.
Families applying for a Joshua Group EITC Scholarship will submit a formal request for a scholarship, provide tax returns and other financial documentation, and complete an interview process with Joshua Group staff. The Joshua Group will award financial assistance based on financial need first. Joshua Group will rank each family's need objectively using financial information provided by the applicants. Awards will be made based upon the number of applicants, the financial need of the applicants, and the amount of scholarship money available. Students of families that are residents of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, or Steelton, Pennsylvania, and are enrolled in Holy Family School, Cathedral School, St. Stephens Episcopal School, Prince of Peace School, or Bishop McDevitt High School will be eligible to receive Joshua Group EITC Scholarships.
